Multicolor / multi-material 3D printers

Multi-material systems (Bambu Lab's AMS popularized the category; Creality has CFS, Anycubic the ACE Pro) feed several filaments into a single nozzle and switch colors automatically. The hidden cost: purging between changes wastes material and makes prints longer. Every printer here is compatible with its manufacturer's system; type and slot count are on each spec page.

FAQ

How many colors can I print at once?
Typically 4 slots per unit. Several models can chain units: Bambu Lab systems reach 16-19 colors by combining multiple AMS units.
Does multicolor waste filament?
Yes: on every color change the printer purges material (the 'printer poop' you see in videos). On prints with many changes per layer, purge waste can exceed the part itself.
