Our take on the Centauri Carbon 2

The Centauri Carbon 2 keeps what made the first one popular — an enclosed 256 × 256 × 256 mm CoreXY at a modest price — and raises the hardened-steel nozzle to 350 °C. It's ready for multicolour with CANVAS, Elegoo's 4-spool system, which according to Elegoo is sold separately.

Against the original Centauri Carbon, the difference is that extra temperature and the colour option; against the Creality K2, enclosed and with CFS, it offers a hotter nozzle. Elegoo declares 45 dB of noise, among the lowest in the catalogue, and a double-sided bed (textured PEI plus a smooth surface for PLA).

Worth knowing: multicolour isn't included if you buy the printer alone, and the chamber is enclosed but not actively heated, so large polycarbonate or nylon parts are still demanding. We have a longer analysis against its rivals.

What materials can the Centauri Carbon 2 print?

This comes from four facts on its spec sheet: the nozzle reaches 350 °C, the bed 110 °C, and the machine is enclosed with a direct-drive extruder. Those four facts decide most of the list: nozzle temperature sets the ceiling on what you can melt, the bed decides whether the first layer sticks, the enclosure keeps large parts from warping, and the extruder type rules flexibles. We don't test the machine — this is guidance derived from verified data, not a guarantee.

In short: it prints PLA, PETG, TPU (flexible), ABS, ASA, Nylon (PA), Policarbonato (PC) without a fight.

PLAYesYes. PLA has no special needs: any FDM printer like the Centauri Carbon 2 prints it out of the box.
PETGYesYes. With a nozzle up to 350 °C and a bed up to 110 °C it comfortably meets PETG's needs.
TPU (flexible)YesYes. It has a direct-drive extruder, ideal for flexibles; prints TPU well (go slow).
ABSYesYes. Nozzle up to 350 °C and an enclosure: it contains ABS's warping and fumes.
ASAYesYes. Nozzle up to 350 °C and an enclosure: it contains ASA's warping and fumes.
Nylon (PA)YesYes. It reaches 350 °C and is enclosed: it prints Nylon (dry it well first). For carbon-fibre variants, use a hardened-steel nozzle.
Policarbonato (PC)YesYes. Nozzle up to 350 °C and an enclosure: suitable for PC. For carbon-fibre variants, use a hardened-steel nozzle.
