What materials can the MakerBot Sketch print?

This comes from four facts on its spec sheet: the nozzle reaches an unconfirmed temperature, the bed 110 °C, and the machine is enclosed with a bowden extruder. Those four facts decide most of the list: nozzle temperature sets the ceiling on what you can melt, the bed decides whether the first layer sticks, the enclosure keeps large parts from warping, and the extruder type rules flexibles. We don't test the machine — this is guidance derived from verified data, not a guarantee.

In short: it prints PLA without a fight, and it can reach TPU (flexible) with conditions — the detail for each is below.

  • PLAYes

Yes. PLA has no special needs: any FDM printer like the MakerBot Sketch prints it out of the box.

  • PETGNo data

Not verified. We're missing this model's confirmed max nozzle/bed temperature to give a verdict.

  • TPU (flexible)With caveats

With caveats. It uses a bowden extruder: TPU is possible but slow and jam-prone; prefer harder (high-shore) TPU.

  • ABSNo data

Not verified. We're missing this model's confirmed max nozzle/bed temperature to give a verdict.

  • ASANo data

Not verified. We're missing this model's confirmed max nozzle/bed temperature to give a verdict.

  • Nylon (PA)No data

Not verified. We're missing this model's confirmed max nozzle/bed temperature to give a verdict.

  • Policarbonato (PC)No data

Not verified. We're missing this model's confirmed max nozzle/bed temperature to give a verdict.
