Cut STL for your bed
That 40 cm part won't fit your printer — but its pieces will. Pick your printer and the tool cuts the model into parts that actually fit your bed (we use each model's real build volume), with alignment dowel holes so they glue up straight. All in your browser: the file is never uploaded.
Models cut
How it works
- 1 Drag in your STL, OBJ, 3MF or PLY (or try the 30 cm sample part).
- 2 Pick your printer — we use its real build volume from our database (98 models) — or type a custom bed, and set the margin.
- 3 Hit “Cut”: you get the pieces with their sizes, a fits-the-bed check and optional alignment holes for glue-up. Download each part or all of them.
What it's for
Cosplay helmets and props, large decor, full-scale prototypes, signs… half of what's worth printing doesn't fit a 220 mm bed. Instead of fighting Meshmixer or eyeballing cuts in the slicer, pick your printer here and get exactly the pieces you need, each one marked as fitting or not, watertight and print-ready. If your mesh comes broken from a scan, run it through the mesh reducer first (it welds vertices); and to lighten the part, see the voronoi generator.
FAQ
- How does cutting for MY printer work?
- You pick your model and we apply the real build volume from its spec sheet (our verified-specs database). The tool computes the minimum number of cuts so every piece fits with your chosen safety margin, and marks each piece green when it fits.
- What are the alignment holes?
- Each cut face gets 2-3 facing 2 mm holes. When gluing, slide a short piece of filament into each hole pair and the parts self-align while the adhesive sets. You can turn them off.
- Are the pieces printable?
- Yes: cutting uses guaranteed-manifold booleans (the Manifold kernel), so every piece is watertight by construction. If your source mesh has holes or broken edges we tell you before cutting instead of producing corrupt parts.
- Is my file uploaded anywhere?
- No. The file is processed entirely in your browser; it's never sent anywhere. No upload size limits because there is no upload — just your machine's memory.
- What if the model fits when rotated?
- We tell you: if the part fits the bed in another orientation, the tool says no cutting is needed and saves you the glue-up. Cutting is always the last resort.
